Checker Cabs was introduced to Alberta in the summer of 1984. The company's mandate was to offer the highest quality taxi service in North America. Ten years later, three million customers a year can attest to the achievement of this goal. The black taxicabs with their distinctive checkered logo are common sight on the streets of Calgary.
